CHANNEL 13 INTERVIEW 5 YEARS SINCE COVID-19
I was honored to be invited for an interview with Channel 13 to commemorate the five-year anniversary of the COVID-19 lockdown. During the segment, we discussed my project titled "My Home, Your Home, Our Playground," which captures the unique and evolving human experience during this unprecedented time. The interview focused on how I managed to document and photograph life during the lockdown—a period marked by uncertainty, adaptation, and resilience.
In the conversation, I shared the creative process behind the project, detailing how I navigated the challenges of capturing intimate and authentic moments while adhering to health and safety restrictions. I spoke about the inspiration behind the title and how it reflects the shared reality we all experienced—where homes transformed into workplaces, classrooms, and even places of recreation. My goal was to tell the story of how communities adapted, how ordinary spaces took on new meaning, and to preserve the emotional landscape of this historic moment for future generations.
The interview also provided an opportunity to reflect on the technical and emotional aspects of the project. I discussed how I adapted my photography methods to capture candid and often poignant scenes, using remote techniques and socially distanced shoots while building trust with my subjects. Through "My Home, Your Home, Our Playground," I aimed to create a visual narrative that not only documents the hardships of the lockdown but also celebrates human connection, creativity, and resilience in the face of adversity.
